How To... > Fix a wall light

Fixing a wall light

IMPORTANT
As with anything electrical, if you are unsure what you are doing contact a qualified electrician

You will need:
connector
Flat connector plate, 100mm x 40mm, bent at right-angles in a vice.
lampholder
Antique-effect brass lamp-holder.
threaded rod
Threaded connecting rod, to fit the base of the lamp-holder, with plastic grommit and fixing nut (not shown).
spacer
Fix the wall light in three steps:
step 1
Step 1.
Thread the connecting rod and grommit into the base of the lamp-holder.
step 2
Step 2.
Fasten the angled plate to the wall and seat the lamp-holder in a hole on the plate.  Secure with the fixing nut.
step 3
Step 3.
Ensure the plate and lamp-holder are properly earthed and the fixing nut is tight.  The wall light is now ready to receive the light shade.
PLEASE NOTE
Do not under any circumstances fit a wall light unless you are happy with what you are doing. Electricity is very dangerous. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
